This project involved designing an IoT-based solution for managing and monitoring private aircraft hangars using AWS IoT Core. The goal was to create a system that provided real-time data on hangar conditions, aircraft status, and connected devices such as security cameras and sensors. The design centered around developing a user-friendly dashboard for different stakeholders, including aircraft owners, hangar operators, and maintenance teams, allowing them to monitor and manage the hangar remotely.
Each user group had specific needs, so the design focused on creating personalized dashboards for owners, operators, and maintenance teams. Aircraft owners needed alerts about environmental conditions, hangar operators required comprehensive device management tools, and maintenance teams needed tools for aircraft health monitoring and scheduling. The design aimed to ensure that each group had the most relevant data presented in a clear and easy-to-navigate interface.
The primary challenge was integrating complex IoT data into a simple and intuitive design. Through iterative wireframing and prototyping, we focused on creating a system that presented real-time data effectively and was accessible across devices. The final solution improved operational efficiency by automating monitoring, reducing manual checks, and providing clear alerts for critical conditions, ensuring better maintenance management and enhanced security for all users.
