Truminds celebrated the 74th Indian Republic Day in Style. The event was conducted virtually and was attended by members of the Truminds family globally. The event was kicked off with a rendition of the national anthem.
On this special occasion we had Brigadier Bhanu Sud as our chief guest. Mr. Sud is a veteran from Indian Army (1987-2005) who led the team from front and was formerly associated with IFFCO. He is now actively involved in various community development and CSR related projects. During his speech, Mr. Sud talked about how occasions like Republic Day and Independence Day always reminded him of the celebrations in the army. One piece of advice that he gave to all of us was not to take oneself too seriously. Narrating few of his experiences Mr. Sud shared that he had first applied to the Navy, he had got rejected and had almost thought that his dreams were shattered. However, he then joined the army where he often faced life-threatening situations including combat in Sri Lanka where he was injured in an explosion and was carried to the safe shelter by his buddy. However, the very first thing he did post-recovery was to go straight, back to the war front. He always felt fortunate to be a part of a noble cause and mentor young cadets.
Mr. Sud inspired our BrightMINDS with the many lessons of leadership, he phrased that a subordinate is not meant to be ordered around but nurtured and guided because like in a human pyramid, it’s the people at the bottom who are the heroes, not the ones at the top. We would like to thank Mr. Sud for his thought-provoking speech and anecdotes. His speech was followed by several performances by Truminds employees across all our centers.
Fittingly enough, the session ended with chants of “Jai Hind”, all of us feeling as one in that moment.
